{"id":2163,"date":"2023-07-05T08:30:52","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T08:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/old.acresal.gov.ng\/?p=2163"},"modified":"2023-07-06T20:44:55","modified_gmt":"2023-07-06T20:44:55","slug":"nasarawa-state-acresal-constructs-solar-powered-boreholes-street-lights-in-some-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/old.acresal.gov.ng\/?p=2163","title":{"rendered":"Nasarawa State ACReSAL constructs solar powered boreholes, street lights in some communities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Nasarawa State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has constructed and installed solar-powered boreholes and solar street lights in eleven wards of Akwanga, Uke in Karu and Loko Ward in Nasarawa Local Government Area (LGA) in Nasarawa State.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The installation project commenced with community sensitization and advocacy to raise awareness about the ACReSAL project development objective (PDO) and the installation of solar-powered boreholes and solar street lights in the aforementioned wards as part of their urgent needs.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The primary objective of the intervention is to provide clean and accessible water to rural communities that currently endure long journeys to obtain these vital resources.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In addition, the provision of solar street lights will offer alternative energy sources to communities, particularly during nighttime, discouraging the use of trees for lighting purposes. Upon completion, approximately 25,000 individuals will directly benefit from improved access to clean water and solar street lights in the affected areas.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2165 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/old.acresal.gov.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-07-02-at-21.49.00-1024x914.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"914\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">In their remarks during separate sensitization and advocacy visits, the Chairman of Akwanga LGA, Hon. Safiyanu Isa, the Chun Mada- His Royal Highness (HRM), Pst. Samson Gamu Yaren, HRH. Amb. Habila Adamu- the Chemnku and the Emir of Uke-HRM. Ahamed Abdullahi, expressed appreciation and admiration for selecting their LGA as the site for this impactful community project. They pledged their unwavering support during and after the implementation and urged their respective communities to take ownership, ensure its enduring impact and long-term sustainability.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">They applauded the project and described it as a significant relief for the benefitting communities, saying that it will not only alleviate the burden of walking long distances in search of water but also contribute to reducing crimes such as theft, nocturnal attacks and harassment.
