In a strategic move to address critical climate challenges and promote sustainable development in Northern Nigeria, the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project is set to partner with Rural Electrification Agency (REA) through the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) on Result Based Financial (RBF) in the implementation of the Project\u2019s Farmer Led Irrigation Development (FLID) intervention.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This partnership marks a major step towards enhancing knowledge sharing and collaboration between Project Management Units of Federal Government Agencies regarding the adoption of innovative financing mechanisms such as the Result-Based Financing (RBF) for the implementation of projects that impact positively on Nigeria’s Sustainable Development Goals.<\/div>\n

The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project aims to tackle several critical issues in Northern Nigeria by adopting Result Based Financing for Farmer-Led Irrigation Development (FLID) and other rural electrification and solar-power initiatives.<\/div>\n

These challenges include high rates of poverty, depletion of natural resources, low agricultural productivity,<\/div>\n
climate risks, desertification among others.<\/div>\n

Through this knowledge sharing strategy arrangement, the NEP will contribute its vast knowledge and success experienced in implementing projects under the NEP using Result-Based Financing (RBF) towards contributing significantly to ACReSAL’s goal of promoting climate-resilient practices and empowering targeted communities with sustainable energy access.<\/div>\n

This partnership demonstrates the NEP PM’s commitment to working in synergy with other PUs in the public sector to promote clean, reliable and environmentally friendly power, consequently creating an avenue for growth and sustainable development throughout Nigeria.<\/div>\n
